Central Austin Neighborhoods
To give you an idea of how much the Greater Austin Area has grown, in the year 2000 the population of Austin was about 675,000 and a mere twenty years later it has grown almost 42% to approximately 965,000. This explosive expansion makes it one of the fastest growing places in the country and has contributed greatly to the melting pot of cultures for diversity within the city.
Due to its proximity to downtown, the architecture you can find in the Central Austin area varies widely from quaint, rustic homes to sleek, modern condos.
Future home buyers are usually interested in West Campus, Hancock, Eastwood, Rose dale, N. Campus/Dean Keeton and Hyde Park to settle or invest in. There are some lovely townhouses, single-family homes and condos available but vacant land lots are hard to find making the few empty lots that are left highly desirable and increasingly more valuable.
Austinites enjoy a flourishing nightlife, art galleries, vintage shops, live music in bars and their choice of delicious food truck fare. All of this is conveniently close to home and full of that extraordinary Austin flavor that attracts so many people. Central Austin has the comfort of a well established urban community, paired with the ability to easily turn your weekend into a delightfully fun experience you will remember for many years to come.
Although most homes in Central Austin are mid-century properties, a number of them have been renovated by ambitious "house flippers" and there are still brand new homes being constructed in these neighborhoods. The assorted mix of different architectural styles in this urban landscape means that there is something for just about anyone who considers buying a home in this popular region.

There are many other outdoor green spaces to explore as well as the Hill Country which offers many breathtaking vistas and attractions.
Vibrant night clubs, thriving bars and emporiums galore on Rainey Street or 6th Street are just a stone's throw away, as are all the happening downtown areas. Virtually all of Central Austin is within biking distance of the neighborhoods and if you are on foot there is a well-managed bus route throughout the city with comfy seats and WiFi onboard.
